Taking on new challenges is one of our biggest ongoing studio goals. Needing a break from production work combined with the desperate need for a vacation fueled our early Souvenir brainstorm sessions. Having always been huge fans of Gabriel Stromberg’s work, the three of us set a lofty goal—to transform a 2000 sq foot gallery space into an immersive wanderlust experience. Combining 2D and 3D elements, neon, large scale installations, souvenir-turned-art-objects and tropical cocktails to create a vacation state of mind.
Souvenir explored the beauty of escapism, the longing for a sense of elsewhere, and the importance of seeking play in our work.
Souvenir was designed for studio e gallery and was open April-May 2015.
