One of the main goals during our term as board members for the Northwest Chapter of IDSA was to focus on creating collaborations across multiple design disciplines and to connect to the larger Seattle design community. One of the ways we worked to integrate our Chapter was by participating in the annual Seattle Design Festival.

Our first year participating in the Festival granted us the opportunity to expand beyond the local design community and engage the general public in active design-focused conversations. We created the Design League—a series of trivia-based events that were designed to “give the everyday its due.” The Design League was created to highlight the beauty of everyday objects. Part history, part awareness, part playfulness, these interactive events paid homage to the objects we all use on a daily basis.
